Furniture 3D modelling is the process of building an accurate digital version of a piece, and every render, augmented reality experience, configurator and animation that follows is only as good as that model. XO3D, a director-led product CGI studio in Stevenage, UK, models furniture from CAD, technical drawings or physical samples, working to manufacturing tolerances so dimensions can be trusted downstream. Hard-surface pieces such as tables and frames need clean topology and crisp edges. Upholstery, cushions and throws need material behaviour with realistic fold and drape. Modular and sectional ranges are built specifically for configurator and AR use. Topology, level of detail and export format are agreed before modelling begins, then the model is reviewed at silhouette, topology and detail stages and delivered in the formats the downstream work requires.

About the studio
XO3D is a director-led product CGI studio, incorporated as XO3D Ltd in 2019 (UK Companies House 11876020). Founded by Thomas Howcroft (Founder and Creative Director) and Alex Mann (Co-Founder and Managing Director). Based at the Business and Technology Centre in Stevenage, UK, with representation at 244 Fifth Avenue, New York. We work with tech, industrial and premium consumer brands on product films, launch stills and interactive experiences.
